About Bikaner:
The city of Bikaner was founded by Rao Bikaji and Jats, which was completely developed in 1486 as the capital of Bikaji and now it is the fourth largest city of Rajasthan. It is located in the middle of Thar desert and in the north of Rajasthan state. Surrounded with huge walls, the city is the witness of many wars with Mughals and British. Bikaner is famous all over the county for its delicious sweets and namkeens (snacks).

Junagarh Fort:

Laxmi Niwas Palace:
This palace is one of the major attractions of the city, which was designed by a British architect Sir Samual Swinton Jacob. The palace is the great example of Indo-Saracenic architecture, which now is converted into a luxurious hotel.

Lalgarh Palace:
This palace is the beautiful structure, coated with red sandstone, which was also designed by the British architect Sir Samual Swinton Jacob. This magnificent structure is the rich blend of Rajput, Mughal and European architecture.

Temples: The famous temples of Bikaner are:
Karni Mata Temple: This temple is dedicated to Karni Mata, located 30 km south of Bikaner. The temple is primarily famous for rats, who can be seen in bulk, moving all around the temple.

Shivbari Temple: This temple is devoted to Hindu Lord Shiva. Inside the temple, there is a beautiful four faced statue of Lord Shiva. This temple is the center of faith, thousands of pilgrims visit this temple every year.

Laxmi Nath Temple: It was founded in the period of Rao Lunkaran and it is one of the oldest temples of Bikaner.

Bhandasar Jain Temple: This temple is one of the most beautiful temples as well as the highest temple of the city, dedicated to fifth Tirthankar ”Lord Sumatinath”. This beautiful temple is made of red sandstone and its renowned for its magnificent wall paintings and Usta art.

Festivals:
The most famous festivals of Bikaner are Camel festival, Gangaur festival and Kolayat festival. These festivals are celebrated with great zeal and are famous for their dancing, folk music, various art forms and camel safari, camel race etc.
